Resetting GPIO pins when nut is killed or stops in the IDE

I'm testing my heater control code and noticed that if I turn on a gpio pin (high) when I kill the nut it still stays high.

Is there anyway to get the Esquilo to set it low to turn off the heater if the nut is killed or stops because of an error?

I looked at the watchdog and I'm guessing that would work when the Esquilo is running normally and it stops or gets an error the Esquilo will reset, I'm guessing that will make all the GPIO pins low?
